I’m now completely disenfranchised with Corporate America.

It seems companies now exist to provide bad service at whatever rate they can get away while providing the bare minimum of customer service to keep them from being sued.

In the last two days, I’ve experienced this twice.

First, Bank of America. Bank of america ATM kiosks require a card to unlock the door. The one right across the street from my apartment utilizes this system. Naturally, it doesn’t work. Ever. So I send an email to BOA graphically detailing the issue. Of course, I get the standard “We’re sorry your ATM is malfunctioning, we’ll address the issue”. Wonderful, fix the ATM for me. Don’t worry about the fact that it’s not the ATM that’s malfunctioning.

Now ATT. I recently got ATT DSL. It’s not that fast, but it was stable and cheap. The last few days, it’s gone down at least once an hour, and the only thing that gets it back up is a modem reset. Not a huge deal if you’re sitting there. Huge deal if you’re at work trying to remote desktop to your home PC.

I go to their website to try and get it addressed as Customer Service is closed right now. I try to log in, and they tell me my SSN is incorrect. Then that there’s no SSN associated with the account, and that I should log in using my PIN. Which is located on my bill. Which I have yet to recieve. Excellent.
