Michael Patrick is opening his own restaurant, “Rizzo’s Diner”

The facebook page is up, but I don’t believe they have a proper website yet. Excerpted from a message he sent me: The Grand Opening will be Trolley Night September 30th. The Cuisine will be southern inspired diner fare with my fine dining twists and interpretations. Lunch 11 to 2:30 Tuesday through Friday. Dinner 5 [...]

Is Gus’ fried chicken still the best in the world?

Yes, yes it is. I had to test it again last night, you know, just to be sure.

Orpheum Memphis Summer Classic Movie Lineup.

I got this from the Orpheum a few weeks ago and forgot to post it. Here’s the cliff notes version:   Here’s the official press release on their website. Parilla Rio Loco from Rio Loco. The single is more than enough food for two people. I imagine the double size would feed a family of four. From their menu: From my phone: Highly suggested. Except between the food and the margarita, I’m now worthless for the next two hours.

Lovely weather tonight.

I’ll get more pics soon. Here’s what remains of the “road closed” sign at Main and Madison.

Huey’s Bluff City Burger.

I went to Huey’s the other night and noticed a new burger on the menu, the bluff city burger. According to the website: From the char-grille, on a buttered and toasted Kaiser bun, our world famous Huey Burger, served with smoked cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, onion straws, BBQ sauce, with shredded lettuce and pickles. Delicious! [...]

River City Brew Festival in Handy Park this weekend.

If you regularly drink bud light, and would like to branch out a little, it’s a lot cheaper than buying a 6 pack of each. If [...]

I’ve been threatening to do a podcast for a while now…
