As a pastafarian, I feel deeply discriminated against.

I was quoted $32.99, which is completely different from the $23.99 referenced here or the $37.99 reference on their website. They also told me that the $19.99 768/128 package was no longer available. I’m supposed to have the CD by Saturday, we’ll see what goes down…

If he can overcome his technology suckage, he’s going to write some stuff here. He’s a funny guy, I hope he contributes often.

Ashley doesn’t suck at technology, but she’s still recovering from new years in Laos. She might eventually post too, likely after a change of venue back to the states.

I didn’t know this, so I figure I’m not alone, Hoop’s bar at Second near beale, connected to EP’s delta kitchen is open on Mondays again. Just an FYI. Also, tell Tony he’s a bugchaser.

I hope ATT wireless is serious about “unlimited” on their data plans.

I do a lot of mobile browsing at work, use it to PUSH one email account and access a bunch of others via IMAP, and frequently email attachments and stuff so I can just sync it with a different computer when I need the attachment. Fuck it, I actually pay for the $40 internet package, they shouldn’t bitch

I’ve been trying to order for two days. First they bury the standalone DSL, so the only way to find it is to go to the homepage and click on “Switch to ATT”. Just going to the DSL page makes you choose home phone service.

I finally find this little loophole to get to the “Naked DSL” page and put my address in. And it kicks it. So I get a Live “Help” chat going. They tell me to make sure I put the address in correctly and the other obvious shit. I assure them I did. Then they tell me it’s not available in my area.

I inform them that it’s available on the main page, where you have to choose phone service with it, it’s just not taking my address on this page.

She then tells me that they must have run out of connections.

I inform her that I live downtown, with literally thousands of offices within a block or two, and that there’s no way ATT had run out of bandwidth for the 38103 area code. It’s just not fucking possible.

Then I go back, and notice that some of the “Suggested addresses” are my building, just different unit number. So I try it using that. Works fine. Try changing it to my unit number, using the same formatting that they use. No deal. She then informs me that I have to call customer care. Here’s the number. Oh yeah, and they’re closed.

Excellent.

Sigisfunny was always supposed to just be a personal site anyway, I just started playing around with wordpress and it kinda snowballed, so the other day at work I decided to register a more content relevant domain name, and this is what I came up with.

The switchover took all weekend because I got home from work on Friday and started backing up data on my harddrive in case anything happened or a file or database was corrupted or any of the myriad things that can happen. I got everything backed up, did a clean wordpress install on this domain, started to up my database, and the wifi access point I had been connecting too for the last month went down. And never came back. I should have gotten my own ISP weeks ago, but it’s easy to forget when you just sit down and you’re connected to an open network with a great signal strength and no issues.

Anyway, I’m going try to put in an order for Bellsouth’s DSL again tomorrow, but that’s a whole other story that can wait until tomorrow. Yeah I know Comcast is faster, but I hate them with the fire of a thousand suns.

Basically the cliff notes version is I spent all weekend reupping my site via my phone, thank jebus for 3G connectivity. I seriously think I’m gonna go over a gig this month in transfer from my cell phone.

I’m off to bed, I’ve still been taking pics and writing stuff down, so I’ll likely add a whole lot of content when I get up, but I need sleep right now.
